The workshop “AAC – Alternative and Auxiliary Communication” was conducted in connection with the workshop series entitled “Understanding People with Disabilities”. The meeting took place on September 27, 2024 at Ignatianum University in Krakow, Poland.
💬 Participants were able to learn about many types of non-verbal communication methods that substitute or supplement speech, e.g. sign language, pictograms, PCS system, Makaton language and others. Participation in the meeting made it possible to study and understand the communication environment of people with special needs.
💡The meeting contributed to raising public awareness in the academic community of the limitations faced by doctoral students with disabilities.
👥 The workshop seminar was led by Marta Cichoń-Krzysiek, MA – occupational therapist, sensory integration therapist, teaching fellow at the B. Czech University of Physical Education in Krakow. Main area of professional interest: pediatric occupational therapy and environmental adaptation.
The event organizing team of the Full in Science project is also organizing a wrap-up meeting! Expect to hear news about the conference! 🙌
