As part of the „Understanding People with Disabilities” event, a workshop „Analyzing Barriers and Finding Solutions” was held at the Gdansk Medical University on April 26, 2024.
👩🦽Uczestnicy had the opportunity to get acquainted with special devices and items (which are used by people with disabilities on a daily basis or which helped the participants of the event to feel like a person with disabilities, to learn about their limitations).
💡The meeting contributed to raising public awareness in the academic community of the limitations faced by doctoral students with disabilities.
The workshop was led by:
👥 Miroslaw Mlynski, M.Sc. – a long-time member of the Active Rehabilitation Foundation – one of the oldest Polish self-help organizations dealing with various problems of people with disabilities. FAR instructor.
👥 Marek Pienczyn, M.Sc. – Instructor of Active Rehabilitation. Led and participated as an instructor in many projects aimed at promoting the topic of accessibility of public spaces for people with disabilities. Recipient of numerous awards (including the Bronze Cross of Merit awarded by the President of the Republic of Poland for his work on behalf of people with disabilities). Since 1993 he has been moving with the help of a wheelchair.
