📣We cordially invite you to participate in a series of workshops as part of the event „Understanding People with Disabilities”, a practical workshop during which participants will be able to learn in practice the limitations and barriers that people with disabilities face on a daily basis that hinder activities in academic, social and local government life. The workshop was prepared in cooperation with experts in the field of functioning of people with disabilities.
Within the framework of the workshop, we have provided for two non-conflicting meetings. Participants signing up for the workshop series will be required to attend both meetings:
🅰️ AAC – Alternative and Auxiliary Communication
Participants will have the opportunity to learn about many types of non-verbal communication methods that substitute or supplement speech, e.g. sign language, pictograms, PCS system, Makaton language and others. Participation in the meeting will provide an opportunity to explore and understand the communication environment of people with special needs.
🅱️Analiza barriers and seeking their solutions
Participants will have the opportunity to get acquainted with special devices and items (either used by people with disabilities on a daily basis or that will help event participants feel like a person with disabilities, learn about their limitations).
